Wild Turkey Bourbon 101

———

Proof: 101

Age: NAS (7-8 years)

Distillery: Wild Turkey

Mashbill:

——

Nose: Almond, Cinnamon, Clove, Caramel, Vanilla, Musty Oak, Leather, Pipe Tobacco, Burnt Orange Peel, Chocolate, Honey, Butterscotch.

Taste: Oily/Velvety. Brown sugar, black pepper, cinnamon, burnt orange peel, clove, molasses, honey, chocolate, musty oak, leather, tobacco, coffee, caramel, vanilla.

Finish: medium-long length. The musty, bitter oak hits the tongue and instantly changes into a delicious burnt orange peel and chocolate, followed by your standard caramel, vanilla, and butterscotch notes. The heavier earth notes, such as leather and tobacco come off slightly sweet and almost refreshing, before the last punch of that signature Turkey spice funk hits and seals the deal.

Overall: I love WT101. Love it. One of the best values in bourbon and one that people still won’t touch because of the “cheap” stigma. I am fine with that.

This is something that you should have around just to enjoy.

It is safe to say I have nothing but good things to say about this bottle. For sub $20, you can get a 750 and for sub $40 you can have a handle. This is such a versatile Bourbon that you need to at least try a pint of it. It’s sweet, savory, spicy, and affordable.
