Nose: Almond, cinnamon, charred oak, rich brown sugar, cardamom, dried tobacco, dried cherry, dark chocolate, hint of coffee, burnt orange peel, vanilla bean.

Taste: Sharp/Warm. Chocolate covered cherry, bitter charred oak, nutmeg, clove, brown sugar, butterscotch, orange peel, caramel, dried fruit, strawberry jam, toasted vanilla bean.

Finish: Long. Bold coffee, charred oak, dried fruit, clove and nutmeg hit the palate; transforming into leather, dried pipe tobacco, cinnamon, with a hint of some bitter oak tannins; before finishing with a hint of strawberry, chocolate, and rich vanilla.

Overall: Where does one begin? Blending two 13 year old and a 10 year old together and delivering that at 110 proof?! It’s a flavor booooomb!
For those who love the rich, heavy spice, oak, tobacco, dried fruit, and those dark profile notes in a bourbon – this is for you. The price point used to scare people away – but now you’re lucky to find any Discovery Series on the shelf at all! BBC is a juggernaut and the future “it girl” of distilleries. Anyone who is anyone is doing, or wants to do, their projects there. This is a blend that is 100% made of sourced juice, but the ratios are perfect, the deep and complex profile is amazing, and it is honestly not priced badly either! $120-$145 is what this goes for for new batches these days, whereas, this older batch was about $110 when I purchased it.

Finding these age statements for this kind of money from these brands is a hard job in today’s Bourbon market. Brands like BBC curate these amazing blends that show off the best qualities of every drop.
